Can't say no!

The last time we hosted my best friend at our house in Dubai, it turned out to be a disaster. This is a ditto feeling I have in my head in reference to another of my classmates from Dublin. Even though, she and I are not as close but yet she sent me an email followed by a call.

From what I could gather, she's flying into town presumably in search of a job. So, as a friend, I'm supposed to let her stay at our place for a while. I wonder what's a 'while' in today's age? Is it a few days, few weeks or months on forever?

We have no problem hosting any one at our house, as we've done that in the past few times. Friends have come and stayed for a few days, some of them have gone beyond in maintaining a strict discipline and etiquette while some, as my other half says best in French were just 'au contraire'.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard I try, I can never bring myself to say no to people and this is exactly what drives me mad. They come, they stay, and they make a mess. I won't say they violate our privacy because I've brought that upon ourselves when I said yes to their request.

I wonder what's next in store for me when another one of my friends lands in town one of these days and moves in to our house. Will this be another accumulation of messes I've got myself into just because I've somehow lost my ability to say 'No'?

I guess time alone will tell.

First!

Thanks to my inspiring half, I've sat down and created my own online journal or a blog if you please!

Thanks also to my UAE national friend from Al-Ain who sat down and guided me what all I should do to create this blog even though she's not a blogger.

The title to this blog is a 50-50 since my other half is A World of Symphony because of his love for music and art, hence the Irish reference to my blog.

I don't know why I've created my own blog since I'm free to post on our other blog but it all stems from his view that I should have my own identity even if I post at his blog.

Here's hoping I post here more often than I do there.
